Valerie has been a prolific writer since kindergarten, with works including sentence practice, essays, letters, emails, poems, scripts, stories, posters, monologues, lesson plans, curriculum packets, log lines, proposals, confessions, apologies, threats and reprimands, status updates, notes of encouragement, lunchbox reminders, tutorials,  journal entries, academic papers, graffitti, lists, and more. She continues to be impressed by the things writing can do. Valerie's writing accomplishments include getting people to do stuff, getting people off, earning money, making people cry, being forgiven, having her dad stop talking to her, summarizing a life for less than $300 in the obituary section, getting people to change their minds, and communicating with people she'll never ever meet in her lifetime, some of them perhaps not even born yet.
