Denise Hanh Huynh
Denise Hanh Huynh is a Minnesota born, Brooklyn Park raised, Saint Paul local. She is a Voices
of Our Nations Arts Foundation alum whose poetry has appeared in the Saint Paul Sidewalk
Poetry project and with Coffee House Press. She has also performed in the annual Poetry and Pie
Picnic, Northern Spark all night arts festival, and the MNKINO film festival. Denise makes a living
as a youth worker, educator, and researcher at the Science Museum of Minnesota, the University of
Minnesota, and all over, really. By day, night, and in between, Denise is also pursuing a PhD in
Education focused in culture, teaching, and literacy in the Curriculum & Instruction department at the
U. She resides in Saint Paul with her Siamese cat, Mây, and three chickens who belong to
everyone and no one: Ophelia, Midnight, and one whose name we keep forgetting. Denise is into
juggling writing projects, learning puppetry with Monkeybear’s Harmolodic Workshop, and figuring out
